Living Life without Limits - Four Lepers did what an army couldn't do

Sunday Sermon 18-8-13 RCCG Solution Centre

Deacon George preaching on Living Life without Limits.

2 Kings 7:3-9

Four Lepers did what an army couldn't do

The redemption. Jesus came to restore us to the original plan. To give us life and life in abundance.

We say the child of a snake is a snake so likewise, the child of a winner is a winner.

Journey to generous promotion must start with knowledge of our present location and position.

God has a plan for us and wants to take us to another level. The location of the four Lepers. They were outside. Leprosy was incurable at that point and considered spiritually unclean. They were physically hurt – bodies with wounds. They were emotionally hurt – separated. They were financially hurt – limited means to make a living. And they were spiritually hurt – separated. They all had a serious problem leading them to death.

Psalm 34:19 – Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Expectation will never be cut short.

Isaiah 43:2 – When thou passest through waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

God will. Stand with hope knowing somehow a way will be found.

2) It is not enough to know your environment, to know your sorrow and pain but you need to confront them.

These men had every reason to be bitter and to feel bad and even reject God but they said 'Why stay here until we die? - 2 Kings 7:3. Until that question comes to you, you cannot go higher.

Yes it is well as I am a child of God but how long will I stay in this situation. e.g you cannot do anything extra for development. Some have worked for 20 years with nothing to show for it except for a tent and clothes. Approaching 40 and say 'where are you going', what is the future for you.

Must come to the point where we confront life and speak to ourselves candidly.

Why remain in that job, in that relationship, that sin, that business, in sorrow, in pain.

Convenant people there is a future for you.

Genesis 42:1 - Why do you just keep looking at each other? (When during famine Jacob saw there was corn in Egypt and he told his sons) Where 12 men are eating, it is not a joke. He provoked them to do something, to trust God, to think outside the box.

A time comes when you must rock the boat and like peter, step out and walk on water.

You are not leaving the job but you complain. Instead of spoiling their name, leave.

Why do you keep lamenting and not do anything about it?

The lepers longed for something better.

The higher the level of operation, the less the toiling. People who make money, they don't sweat off the street. Smart people make millions sitting.

You must conceive it before you receive it. Like Abraham – as far as you can see - look at the starts.

Pray God will give you ideas.

The prodigal son said – I will go back home.

Proverbs 29:18. Where there is no revelation, people perish.

We need revelation of a better life.

In 2 Kings 7:3 They were dissatisfied with the present situation.

There are places you go and you tell God, Baba, I'm not settling here. I was posted to Huruma and I left there, left salary. This is too low.

Do not get settled in a limiting situation. We can do anything, we begin small but go higher. Don't walk in pride. Start small and grow.

Vs 5. They got up. They didn't just strategize. To live life without limits you must get up.

The prodigal son left without a letter of recommendation.

Faith is not magic. With Faith you have to take up action which is backed by responsibility and lined up with God's word. Relevant action.

The Lepers got inspired to overcome their adversity. It must have been painful, bleeding but they went on.

Even if it means relocating, leaving my friends.

Think, act. Think, act. Make up your mind and don't keep thinking.

If we die, let it be so.

Some people are waiting for an ideal situation. Life is not a laboratory environment. Think, do and let God take charge of the rest.

We must be ready to be dissatisfied with our current situation.

Jesus hope of glory will arise for you.

I'm in the river that flows from Your throne Water of life, water of life It covers me and I breath again Your love is breath to my soul

I can hear Your voice as You sing over me It's Your song of hope breathing life into me I can feel Your touch as I come close to You And it heals my heart, You restore and renew. (Lyrics of the song I can hear your voice - Michael W. Smith Album Worship again.)

This is my desire, To honor You Lord, with all my heart, I worship You All I have within me, I give You praise All that I adore, Is in You

Lord, I give You my heart, I give You my soul, I live for You alone Every breath that I take, Every moment I'm awake Lord, have Your way in me (Lyrics from the song I give you my heart – Michael W Smith album worship again.)
